Hi! My name is Brandi and I am the owner of Light Centered Counseling. I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and I regularly obtain new trainings. I work hard to stay up to date on current counseling modalities, research, and ethical practices. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in the State of Colorado, I also obtain regular supervision.

I am a Colorado native and still live here with my husband and our three dogs. I am goofy, sometimes swear, and love theater.

I currently volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, the Front Range Solo Aging Network, Supporting Action for Mental Health and Spark the Change.

I can’t wait to meet you!

Are you ready to take the first step?

    My Values

Your story is a significant part of who you are and the work that you wish to do to move through your story is equally important. I will see you with unconditional positive regard and hold space for you to explore the change that you wish to make in your life.

You are an individual with individual needs and as such, our work together will be a reflection of that. I will endeavor with you to create a treatment plan that will work for you and we will periodiclly review and update these plans to meet your goals. Finding different ways to work with you to enable your progress and help you meet your goals is important so that you can finish counseling and get back to the joy and successes of your life.

Research shows that the most successful counseling happens when the relationship between the counselor and the client is strong, compassionate, and empathetic. To obtain these things, we will work to connect in ways that enable you to feel safe, seen, heard, and capable. Our relationship will be highly important to our work together and we will regularly check in with each other to be sure that we are on the same page.

Your privacy is of utmost concern to me in our work together. I use HIPAA compliant means of communication with you and keep record of our appointments strictly private under Colorado and HIPAA laws.

Counseling cannot be successful without our relationship being one of authenticity, honesty, and hard work. I will hold space for you to be authentic and honest with me and with yourself in our work together.

Counseling is not easy. There will be days when you are having a really great day and aren't in the mood to work on your stuff. Those are the days that it will be especially important to make your appointments as your clarity on those days will look different. You will have a different and rewarding perspective. I will also assign homework and we will talk about your experiences with this and accountability to your goals.
